A beautifully cut original Old European Cut diamond is the centerpiece of this magnificent Art Deco platinum engagement ring from 1930. The higher crown and smaller table, as was the cutting technique in this era, gives this diamond its amazing sparkle and fire. The diamond weighing 2.17 carats is accompanied by a report from the GIA, with a color grade of I and a clarity of VS2. Set in a masterfully handcrafted mounting which is hand-engraved on all 4 prongs and on all sides of the shank, gives this ring its unique look. The sides of each shank are embellished with 5 white and bright small round old cut diamonds. The inside of the shank is engraved " Schneiders" the jeweler of this ring, stamped PLATINUM and 2.17 for the weight of the diamond. There is also a date engraved - April 1, 1930 - presumably the date this ring was first presented to that special someone.
