Art Deco Burma sapphire diamond ring by Henry Birks & Sons ca 1930. The centerpiece of this masterfully hand-crafted ring is a perfectly cut rectangular step-cut Burma sapphire weighing 3.20 carats, accompanied by a certificate from AGL - American Gemological Laboratories. The wonderfully saturated royal blue color of the sapphire, an extremely clear and lively gem, is embellished by two bright white and lively baguette cut diamonds on either side weighing approximately 0.25 carats each, all set in platinum. Signed on the inside of the shank, " BIRKS." Ring size 6 can be sized. Henry Birks was a contemporary of Louis Comfort Tiffany and was known for his superior choice of gemstones and fine craftsmanship. He opened his first store in 1879 in Montreal, Canada, and later expanded to Toronto and many other towns in Canada. His stores are still present today under Birks & Mayors.
