Wonderfully designed and masterfully hand-crafted, this early Victorian brooch from ca 1840 is comprised of a main section and a flexible pendant which can be detached. The amazing three-dimensional construction in 15 karat green and yellow gold exhibits floral designs of leaves and vines curving upwards the showcase a rectangular step-cut light pastel turquoise aquamarine. 4 square step-cut pink sapphires surround the center gemstone which gives this brooch a wonderful contrast in colors. The flexible pendant on the bottom of the brooch is set with an elongated pear shaped aquamarine matched perfectly in color to the top gemstone. Underneath a bright pink square cut sapphire gives this piece its finishing touch. A great and most wearable piece of historic jewelry.
