These charming Victorian earrings from ca 1870 are beautifully handcrafted in 15 karat yellow gold, in the shape of stars. The centers of each earring is set with a perfectly matched cabochon moonstone that show a hue of white-grayish blue and distinctively exhibit the moonstones famous adularescence , the optical phenomenon which causes the shimmering glow to travel across this gemstone. Surrounding the center are 5 deep blue cabochon sapphires and 5 slightly cream colored pearls. The 5 points of the star are embellished with round cabochon moonstones. The pendant part of this lovely earring is flexibly connected to a bezel set larger cabochon sapphire which connects to the elongated hook closure which easily secures on the ear. The earring is light enough in weight to make for a most comfortable wear. Item code 4380
