1960s Diamond Emerald Ruby Pearl Platinum Birds Nest Brooch

Beautifully designed and masterfully hand-crafted, this unique brooch worked in platinum depicts a pair of birds in a bird's nest. The whimsical over-sized heads are cultured pearls bezel set with round brilliant cut diamonds which each have a pointed beak set with a long tapered baguette diamond. The bodies are each set with an elongated carved cabochon ruby. In between the birds, an oval cabochon emerald is bezel set in platinum at a slant. The nest itself is embellished by bright white and sparkly round, baguette and square cut diamonds with various pearls set among what seems to be branches.
