Superb French Victorian era silver on gold diamond necklace from ca 1860. Beautifully designed in a grapevine motif with leaves, vines and grapes all set in silver with Old Mine cut diamonds on a base of yellow gold. This technique used during this period was intended to bring out the contrast of the white diamonds on a darker base. Length 14.40 inches.
