Jewelry as Artform

We think of jewelry as an art form and offer a pairing of a world renowned painting, sculpture, or architectural detail with one of our uniquely beautiful items in our collection.

A pioneer of symbolism, an art direction depicting mystical motives and narrations, Gustav Klimt was a member of the Secessionist Movement. Impacted by Vienna’s multi-cultural dimension around the turn of the century, the Vienna Secession presented a highly idealist coalescence of the first movement of artists and designers, committed to a more internationalist view of the art-world, embracing integration of genres and fields, free from prevailing tastes and commercial interests.

This unique ring was designed by Rive Gauche Jewelry and manufactured in New York, showcases some of the elements found in Klimt's style.

The yellow golden shimmer of yellow sapphires set in a 18 K yellow gold bezel setting, range in shades of deep yellow to a lighter shade of yellow towards the shank, create an abstract mosaic like effect - similar as found in the Klimt painting - and in contrast bring out the bright burgundy red sparkle of the 6.65 carat cushion cut Rubellite.

🝓 Each sapphire is meticulously set, giving the surface of the entire ring an amazingly smooth touch. The beautiful combination of the deep red and various shades of yellow, give this ring a lively, elegant look in the spirit of Klimt's avant garde style, sure to attract the attention of all eyes in the room.
